The coffee siphon, or vac-pot, is a method for brewing drip coffee. It comes in two parts. The bottom portion is simply a container for water, and the top portion has a tube extending down into the bottom portion with a rubber gasket to create an air-tight seal between the two containers. There is a small cloth filter that is place at the opening of the top container. To brew coffee fill the bottom container with water and the put the top container in place after the filter has been clipped on. With the filter in place, put the coarsely ground coffee in the top container. As the bottom container is heated, the water expands and is forced up the tube into the top container brewing the coffee. Once heat is removed, the bottom container forms a vaccum and the liquid is drawn back down through the filter.
